Editing Considerations

Please note the following considerations when editing an element:

• Any changes you make to a field element in a document will be applied to all the occurrences of that field in the document.
• Field, trigger, graphic and signature elements in a document are independent of their corresponding resources. Therefore, changes made to these elements do not affect any resources.
• You cannot edit elements within sections or paragraphs that have the Replace section... or Replace paragraph... option selected.
• When editing an element in a document, you can cut, copy, and paste an element just as you do with regular Word content.

• If you rename an element that was inserted based on a resource in the workspace definition file, a local resource with this new name is created. You can edit the local resource, but not the resource in the workspace definition file.
• Field, trigger, graphic and signature elements in a document are independent of their corresponding resources. Therefore, changes made to field, trigger, graphic and signature elements do not affect any resources.
• The Type property of a Multi-line Text field cannot be changed.
